Engine sound for Tesla Model S and Model X
A V8, V10 or V12 sound in your Tesla Model S or Model X, Long Range or Plaid, revving and shifting with your driving. Runs in the car's browser: setup and settings.
Engine sound for the Model S and Model X
TesRev plays a combustion engine through your Model S or Model X speakers, following your driving: it revs up when you accelerate, shifts gears through an automatic gearbox and pops on lift-off. It runs in the Tesla's web browser, so nothing is installed and nothing connects to the car's systems.
With a Plaid, the engine runs to the rev limiter in no time: try a high-revving engine such as the Italian V10, the V12 or the Formula 1 V10.
Which setting?
In the settings, pick Model S Long Range, Model S Plaid, Model X Long Range or Model X Plaid. TesRev uses the car's mass, power and drag to turn each acceleration into engine load: the Model X is heavier and has more drag than the Model S, and the Plaid has far more power than the Long Range.
Set it up
- Get the car online: Premium Connectivity, or your phone's hotspot (how).
- Open tesrev.com in the Tesla's browser. The engine screen opens and starts the engine. Allow location when asked.
- Add your phone (recommended): scan the square code on the Tesla screen, tap Connect, then Allow, and put the phone in a holder.
- Drive.

Older cars
TesRev needs a recent browser that can synthesize sound in real time. Model S and Model X with the current media computer have one. Older cars with the first-generation media computer (MCU1) have a much older browser and have not been tested: the 20-second demo on the home page is a quick way to check, since it runs the same engine.
Hear it in your Tesla
Open tesrev.com in your Tesla's web browser: the engine screen opens and the engine starts by itself. Add your phone in a holder for a sharper response. Free while in testing, nothing to install, nothing connected to the car.
