Engine sound for Tesla Model Y

Give your Tesla Model Y the sound of a V8, V10 or V12 that follows your driving, through its own speakers. No install, works in the car's browser: setup and settings.

An engine that follows your Model Y

TesRev turns your Model Y's speakers into the voice of a combustion engine. It runs in the Tesla's web browser, without installing anything and without connecting to the car's systems. The engine revs and shifts with your driving, from the Tesla's GPS speed or, for a quicker response, from your phone in a holder, which measures each acceleration as it happens.

The 17 engines include an American V8, an Italian V10, a V12, a flat-plane V8, rotaries, a tuned turbo inline-6 and futuristic sounds. Listen to them all on the engines page.

Set it up

  1. Get the Model Y online: Premium Connectivity, or your phone's hotspot (how).
  2. Open tesrev.com in the Tesla's browser. The engine screen opens and starts the engine. Allow location when asked.
  3. Add your phone (recommended): scan the square code on the Tesla screen, tap Connect, then Allow, and put the phone in a holder.
  4. Drive. Accelerate and the engine revs up and changes gear like a real car.

Which Model Y setting?

Pick Model Y RWD, Model Y Long Range or Model Y Performance in the settings. The Model Y is heavier than the Model 3 and has more drag: TesRev takes this into account, so the same push on the accelerator gives the engine load your car really produces.

With a family on board, try Comfort mode and a calmer engine such as the V12 GT; alone on a back road, Sport mode and a tuned engine with pops and bangs.

Tips

  • The browser needs one tap on the screen before it plays sound: tap the engine button if it says "Tap for sound".
  • Use a rigid phone holder. On iPhone, allow motion and orientation access when Safari asks.
  • Keep the volume at a level where you can still hear what is around you.

Hear it in your Tesla

Open tesrev.com in your Tesla's web browser: the engine screen opens and the engine starts by itself. Add your phone in a holder for a sharper response. Free while in testing, nothing to install, nothing connected to the car.
